ALB NADO values the contribution that sport can make to health, self-development, social development, and national pride when fostered within a strong ethical environment. ALB NADO identifies integrity, fairness, equity, and respect as values essential to meaningful success in sport. Fundamental to sport being enjoyed by all is sporting conduct and the way sport is played. ALB NADO commits to playing their part, along with our partners, in ensuring that standards are set for fair play and drug-free sport and then promoted through the provision of effective education and information.
The basic principle of ALB NADO’s education and information program for anti-doping shall be to protect the spirit of sport from being undermined by doping and to establish an environment which promotes and reinforces doping-free behavior among participants, supporting athletes who wish to compete free from doping. While a comprehensive testing program plays a fundamental part as a deterrent and preventative measure against doping, ALB NADO acknowledges that it has a duty to provide athletes and support personnel with the information and technical advice they need to make informed and responsible choices in compliance with the ALB NADO’s anti-doping regulations.
ALB NADO recognizes the important role that the home countries and regions play in providing effective anti-doping education and information and the essential role athlete support personnel play in providing ethical support and guidance to athletes.
Doping in sport is a major challenge, as it not only threatens the integrity of sport but also puts athletes’ health at risk. Only by taking a concerted and comprehensive approach to the fight against doping in sport is it possible to protect the integrity of sport and the health of athletes worldwide.
Organization
ALB NADO is registered as an independent entity, Nonprofit Organization, with decision No.5929, dated June 20, 2018 at the Tirana Judicial District Court.
The founders of OKAD are the national federations of boxing, equestrian sport and climbing sport, which are represented in the General Assembly and the Executive Committee of ALB NADO. ALB NADO is independent in their operational decisions and activities from sport and government.
The Antidoping Rules of ALB NADO are fully in compliance with WADA Code 2021.
The statute of ALB NADO is drafted and approved by the Assembly and the Minister responsible for sport in accordance with the legislation in force and the WADA Code.
ALB NADO Antidoping Rules are fully in compliance with WADA Code 2021.
ALB NADO approved the Rules Procedure of the Standing Commissions and Director of ALB NADO, in accordance with the WADA Guide "Operational Independence of the National Anti-Doping Organization, under the World Anti-Doping Code 2021".
