List of Prohibited Substances and Methods

The List of Prohibited Substances and Procedures is an international standard that identifies substances and procedures that are prohibited in sport. It was first published by the International Olympic Committee in 1968. Since 2004, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has been responsible for the preparation and publication of the List of Prohibited Substances and Procedures, which updates the list every year on January 1st, and the latest version is always available on the website  www.wada-ama.org

Athletes must know the substances that are on the List of Prohibited Substances and Procedures, as it applies both in and out of competition. It is important that they always check the status of the medications they are taking to ensure that the medication will not cause a positive test result.
